T2 Tanning has for many years been a welcome sight in Shirley. It was bought by us in 2009 and is one of two select tanning salons run by its owner. T2 differs from many salons locally in as much as it is MANNED. We fully believe that tanning is dangerous if left to the devices of youngsters or inexperienced people. We strongly believe all tanning salons should be manned and monitored by trained staff. Being in the industry we hear about people getting burned, getting infections from dirty tanning pods—please, even if you do not use T2 - avoid these places!

But what about us.. Once a steel grey futuristic design that some would say was almost cold, T2 has changed considerably. Since buying T2, Pookie has extended, invested, redecorated and refurbished the salon to within an inch of its life. Bright coloured wallpaper with a delicate design now adorn the walls and gone are the large fantasy posters.

Also gone is the massive spaceship styled desk and two of the 5 tanning pods. Instead T2 now has a cosy treatment room, nail bar and two Flabelos weight management machines. Always the sceptic, I didn’t think these machines (which work on a nano vibra technology) would work... How wrong I was. They have proved hugely popular with both men and women as a method of managing one’s weight and shape.

Customer feedback has been fantastic. T2 is seeing more and more people each day use its reliable, clean, safe services.

T2 wouldn’t be T2 without its staff. We think we have the best team around and the girls pride themselves in their work and their wide range of treatments. The atmosphere is very relaxed yet professional so that visitors and clients know that a welcome smile doesn’t mean untrained. They, like us, fully believe in responsible tanning and will often talk people out of tanning for periods not conducive to a good, wholesome and long lasting tan.
